Running games and events on CarbonNetwork SMP
Roleplay games on CarbonNetwork’s SMP server, used for events: parkour races, treasure hunts, escape rooms and quiz shows on your own claim, ready-made presets to start from, and how they differ from Creative.

Run a race, a treasure hunt or a quiz on your own claim. Everything is in /rp: browse
games, make one, and manage it from one menu.
The basics
/rp browse lists games you can join. Click one to sign up.
Start from a preset. /rp browse → Create game, pick a kind of game (or Blank) and
name it. The roles, triggers and description come filled in. Setup (Manage → Setup, or
/rp setup) lists the spots left to place. Click a step to get an item for it, like
Place: Seeker. Its description tells you where to put it and what to build there. Every spot
goes inside your claim. /rp start waits until the required steps are done. Manage → Game
Details → Save as preset keeps your own setup for next time.
Or type /rp creategame <name> [public|invite|private] [preset], then /rp manage. Enter Edit Mode gives
you a kit (stand in your claim first). Each item marks the spot you're standing on:
| Item | Marks |
|---|---|
| Blaze Rod | A role's starting spot |
| Stick | A starting spot for everyone else |
| Eye of Ender | A named spot, for checkpoints and doors |
| End Rod | A prop: a block, item, text, stand or talking NPC |
| Brick | A box players can build in: click two opposite corners |
| Chest | Opens Manage without leaving the kit |
| Barrier | Finish, and get your things back |
Your inventory is put away while you hold the kit, and comes back when you click Finish. Anything you pick up meanwhile is kept.
/rp start brings everyone to their spots. /rp end sends them back.
How it works on SMP
- Games live on your claim. Spots and props only go inside a claim you own.
- Getting there works like
/home. Joining at the start and going back at the end count down first, and taking damage stops it. Moving around inside your claim is instant. - Nobody moves mid-fight, and you can't open the kit while you're in one.
- Build areas are off until you turn them on: Manage → Scene & World → Build areas. Each box has to sit inside one claim you own. While the game runs, players can place and break blocks inside your boxes and nowhere else. Whatever they break drops for them. Buckets, fire and mobs stay off.
- Not on SMP: cutscenes, scene mood and hiding other players. Creative has all three.
Dungeons
/dungeons lists the dungeons on this server: games played in survival, with monsters,
checkpoints and loot. /games is the same as /rp. Right-click any game in the browser to
see its settings before you join.
Make one with the Dungeon preset, or turn on Manage → Lobby & Access → Survival mode for
any game on your claim. The host picks whether players bring their own inventory or get a
temporary one. A temporary inventory gives your own things back when you finish or leave, and
nothing in it can leave the dungeon: no dropping, no chests, no placing blocks, and only /rp,
/games, /dungeons and chat commands. Loot only drops with a temporary inventory.
Ideas
| Event | How |
|---|---|
| Parkour race | Checkpoints as named spots, each unlocking the next. A catch spot under each jump sends fallers back. The finish takes winners to a podium next to you |
| Treasure hunt | Hidden spots with Show trigger areas off. Right-clicking one gives the next clue and unlocks it |
| Escape room | Levers and books to right-click. The right one moves the team to the next room |
| Quiz show | A role per podium, marked required. IC chat → Lobby so everyone hears. A text prop is the scoreboard |
| Hide and seek | One role called Seeker, shut in a box. Randomize Roles picks who it is |
| Grand opening | A public game on your base, with NPCs that talk when clicked |
| Giveaway | Everyone types /rp roll d100, highest wins. You hand over the prize |
Most of these have a preset: Create game → Parkour race, Treasure hunt, Escape room, Quiz show, Hide and seek or Opening night.
Triggers, props and dice work the same as on Creative. You're the referee: the game doesn't keep score or time.
