Terms of service

What you agree to by playing here, what a rank is and what it isn't, and what happens to it if you are banned.

Last updated 17 September 2026. These clauses say what we actually do and who you are dealing with. They were written in plain language rather than by a lawyer, and they are not legal advice — nothing in them takes away a right the law gives you, and where the two disagree, the law wins.

Who this is between

These terms are an agreement between you and TheLilBigBoss (lectr1c) (“we”, “us”), who operates CarbonNetwork as an individual rather than through a registered company. We are based in Sweden. We are the operator of the CarbonNetwork Minecraft servers at mc.carbonnet.work and of this website. Joining a server, using our Discord, or buying anything from the store means you accept them.

If you are under 18, you may only buy something with the permission of whoever pays the card. We will unwind a purchase made without that permission — see refunds.

Your account

You need a legitimate Minecraft account to play. What you do with yours is your responsibility, including anything done by a sibling, a friend or anybody you handed a password to — we can see the account, not the chair.

You may link your Discord account so ranks, roles and rewards line up across both. That link is optional, reversible, and described in the privacy notice.

Accounts are not transferable. Selling, sharing, renting or gifting an account — with or without a rank on it — ends the licence described below.

What a rank actually is

Please read this part carefully. It's the one that surprises people.

A rank is a revocable, personal, non-exclusive licence to use certain features on our servers while those servers are running and while your account is in good standing. It is not goods. It is not property. You are not buying an object, a file, or a share of anything; nothing is delivered to your computer. What changes is what your account is allowed to do on our servers.

Here is what that means for you, so you know before you buy:

  • It is yours only

A rank cannot be transferred, resold, gifted after purchase, or moved to another account. Buying one for a friend is done at checkout by naming their account, not by handing yours over.

  • It has no cash value

There is no balance to withdraw, and in-game money, items and land are not convertible into real currency by us or by anybody else. See the no real-money-trading rule.

  • What it unlocks can change

Perks, limits and cosmetics are adjusted as the servers change. A limit can go up, and occasionally one goes down. When it does, you keep what you already have rather than having it taken away, and the change is posted to news.

  • It lasts as long as the server does

A rank is a licence to use a running service. If a server closes, the licence to use it ends with it.

None of this is a way of keeping our options open at your expense. A rank is a permission on our servers, and calling it anything else would describe a product we do not sell.

Buying, and subscriptions

The store is run by Tebex. Tebex is the merchant of record for every purchase: they take the payment, they issue the receipt, and the contract of sale for the payment itself is with them. We never see your card details. What we receive is the fact that a package was bought and which Minecraft account it was for.

Ranks are monthly subscriptions. The charge recurs until you cancel it, cancelling stops the next charge rather than the current period, and the rank stays live until the period you have paid for runs out. You can cancel at any time through Tebex, and you do not have to ask us first.

Delivery is immediate. A purchase applies within a minute or two if you are online, and on your next login if you are not. Because it is immediate, the refund position is not the same as it would be for something posted to you — that page explains the 14-day withdrawal right and how immediate delivery interacts with it.

What happens to a rank if you are banned

A ban ends the licence. There is nothing to suspend and hold for you, because the licence only ever meant “this account may use these features on these servers” — and a banned account may not use the servers at all.

So, plainly: a ban is not refundable. If you are banned for breaking the rules, the money spent before it is not returned and any active subscription should be cancelled by you through Tebex — we will also cancel a subscription on a permanent ban where we can, so it does not keep charging for a service you cannot use.

If a ban is overturned on appeal, whatever you had comes back with it, including the remainder of a period you had paid for.

Opening a chargeback instead of asking us is treated as payment fraud and is a permanent ban across the network. Ask first — a refund request costs you nothing and a chargeback costs you the account.

Conduct

The server rules are part of these terms. Breaking them can cost you access, your rank, or both, with no refund; the rules page sets out what leads to what and how to appeal.

You also agree not to attack, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our servers, our website or our Discord, and not to use automated tooling against them beyond ordinary play.

Things you build

Your builds, schematics and scenes stay yours. By publishing one to the atlas, the museum, a public plot or our Discord you give us permission to display it, preserve it across a world reset, and show it in screenshots or promotional material for the network. You can ask us to stop using a particular build in promotion and we will.

Availability, and changes

This is a game server, not a utility. It restarts, it has bugs, it occasionally loses a few minutes of the world to a crash, and it is provided as it is, without a guarantee of uptime. We back up and we roll forward as best we can, and we will not pretend that is the same as a warranty.

We may change features, add servers, retire them, or reset a world at the end of a season. Significant changes are announced on news in advance where advance notice is possible.

To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the one month before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Governing law, and disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law, and the Swedish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute, with Stockholms tingsrätt as the court of first instance.

That does not take anything away from you if you are a consumer in the EU. Under EU law a consumer keeps the protection of the mandatory rules of their own country, can bring a claim in the courts where they live, and can only be sued there. You can also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform, though writing to us first is faster.

Tell us about a problem before you take it anywhere else — almost everything that reaches this paragraph was a misunderstanding that a ticket would have cleared up.

Changes to these terms

We update this page when what we do changes. A material change is posted to news, and continuing to play after it takes effect is acceptance of it. These terms were last updated on 17 September 2026.

Contact

Notices under these terms go to mc.carbonnet.work@gmail.com. There is no postal address — email is the formal route. Everything less formal is better asked on the contact page.
