CarbonNetwork SMP basics: options, schematics and servers

The basics of CarbonNetwork’s SMP server: the options menu, the schematic library, and how moving to Creative works.

Easy2 min read

The Escape menu

Press Escape. Under the usual buttons is a CarbonNetwork button, which opens six more:

ButtonBehind it
YouHomes, claims, wallet, mailbox, your card, schematics
PlayBattlepass, duels, arenas, events, kits, explore
CommunityAtlas, towns, projects, the market, the museum
RankPerks, cosmetics, voting, the store
SettingsGameplay, Notifications, Privacy, Sounds
ServersWho is where, and one click to switch

Settings is worth opening at least once. Some opt-outs are only found there. It has four pages:

  • Notifications — everything the server says to you unasked, including how long /quiet lasts. One Everything off button covers the lot.
  • Privacy — who can message you, pay you, challenge you, spectate you, and which of your stats other players can see.
  • Sounds — every cue, with the same Everything off.
  • Gameplay — particles, the combat bar, the sidebar, farm helpers.

Small conveniences

/afk mark yourself away (happens on its own after 5 idle minutes)
/seen <player> when they were last on
/sit sit down where you stand; sneak to get up
/ptime, /pweather a time and weather only you can see

/sit and /ptime come with ranks. /perks shows which rank, and what else it gives you.

Being AFK doesn't disconnect you. It just stops you counting as present for things like the sleep vote and earning claim chunks.

The schematic library

Save copies of your builds, keep older versions, and use them on both SMP and Creative.

/schem browse your library — Mine, Shared with me, Public
/schem search <text>
/schem save <name> saves your current WorldEdit selection
/schem load <name> into your clipboard
/schem share <player> <name> <view|copy>
/schem fork <player> <name>

Saving under an existing name makes a new version instead of overwriting, and you can still browse the older ones. You can only save from land you own.

/schem save uses your WorldEdit selection. //wand gives you the axe: left-click one corner, right-click the other. //pos1 / //pos2 do the same from where you stand, and //size reads the selection back.

On SMP the axe is for selecting: measure a region, then save it to your library and build with it on Creative.

You can't paste schematics on SMP. Here you can save, version and share them, and you paste them on Creative. It's the same library on both servers: save it here, paste it there.

Moving between servers

/hub the lobby
/queue your position, if a server was full

Escape → Servers takes you straight to another server.

If a server is full, you're put in a queue instead of being turned away. You stay connected and see your place in line and a time estimate.

Follows you everywhere: your rank and cosmetics, your /card, bans and mutes, your schematic library.

Stays on this server: your balance, your battle pass progress, and your homes, claims, town, kits and inventory.

Creative and Skyblock have their own money. If your balance seems to vanish when you switch servers, that's why. It's still here when you come back.
