How to get started on CarbonNetwork SMP
The first evening on CarbonNetwork’s SMP server: finding help, setting a home, getting back to it, and what happens to your stuff if you die.
Easy2 min read
/help lists everything on this server in one place, and every command in it is clickable.
Getting around
/spawn this server's spawn
/tpa <player> ask to teleport to them
/tpahere <player> ask them to come to you
/tpaccept /tpdeny
/back back to where you last teleported from
If several requests are waiting, /tpaccept on its own accepts the newest. Add a name to pick another.
Private messages are /msg and /r; see Chat & cards. To go
somewhere you've never been, see Exploring.
Homes
/homes your home book — click one to travel
/sethome [name]
/delhome <name>
/home [name]
/homes is the easiest way in. Each home has its own page where you can rename it, change its icon or delete it.
Warps
/warps the community warp directory
/warp <name>
/warp nominate put a place forward as a public warp
Anyone can nominate a warp, so the list is made of other players' places.
Graves
When you die, your items go into a grave where you fell instead of onto the floor. Only you can open it, but anyone can break it, and that scatters your items on the ground.
/graves your graves, and where they are
Graves expire, and the list tells you when. Get there before that.
/back after a death doesn't drop you on your grave. It asks first, then puts you somewhere
safe 64 to 160 blocks away, and you walk the rest. Grab armour, a weapon and food before you
click Go back: whatever killed you may still be around.
Sleeping
/sleep opens the vote
/sleep y /sleep n
Night is skipped by a vote, so not everyone has to sleep. Using a bed starts the vote.
Peace and quiet
/quiet mute the noisier server chatter
/quiet missed what you missed while quiet
/ambience per-player sound and atmosphere settings
/farmhand auto-replant, auto-pickup and offhand bonemeal
All three open menus. Use /quiet when broadcasts get in the way.
/farmhand is worth turning on early. Right-clicking a mature crop harvests and replants
it, drops go straight to your inventory, and the seed comes from the harvest, not your stack.
A radius harvest costs one durability point per block, not one per swing.
Did a friend bring you here?
/referral <code> redeem your friend's referral code
/referral your own code, plus who brought you and who you've brought
Everyone has a referral code. Open /referral and click the paper to copy yours.
You can redeem one code, within your first 14 days. Once you've played for an hour, you can both claim a small reward. Typed the wrong code? Run it again; you can change it until the reward is claimed.
What your build costs
/health what the claim you're standing in costs the server
/health claim <claim>
