Advanced build tools on CarbonNetwork Creative

The deeper toolset on CarbonNetwork’s Creative server: displays, palettes, symmetry and arrays, the schematic library, timelapses and the build checker.

Hard3 min read

The bigger tools. Most need a selection first: your WorldEdit one, set with //wand (left/right-click two corners) or //pos1 / //pos2. Every tool here reads that same selection.

Display entities

/display edit gives you a kit for placing, moving and transforming block, item and text displays by hand.

Kit itemDoes
Blaze RodLeft-click a display to select; sneak+left-click adds to the selection
StickNudge the locked axis. F cycles axis, sneak+F cycles channel
ComparatorOpens the editor
Prismarine ShardDuplicate
BarrierDone, and your inventory comes back

/display menu is the editor: position, scale and rotation with +/− tiles per axis, a step-size strip (number keys 1–7 work anywhere in the menu), billboard, brightness, view range, undo/redo, duplicate, groups, and Edit Content.

Type an exact number with the Type exact value tile. Q copies a transform, Ctrl+Q pastes it.

Symmetry & arrays

/symmetry wand, then /symmetry menu.

  • Live symmetry — mirrors every block as you place it. Set an origin, pick a plane (x / z / xz) or a radial fold, toggle it on.
  • Mirror selection — flip an existing selection.
  • Array — repeat a selection in a line or sweep it around the origin.
  • Spline — place control points with the spline wand and stamp along the curve; it previews as particles before you commit.

F while holding the wand cycles radial folds. Big operations need a shift-click to confirm. Undo last mirror only works on smaller ones, and tells you when it can't.

Shared sessions

/bs menu — build with other people on one selection.

Invite builders, share your selection as a white outline everyone sees, and lock regions so two people can't paste over each other. Cursors and corners are live.

Locks expire on their own after 5 minutes, or a minute after you stop editing inside one. You can hold 2 at a time.

Schematic library

/schem browse opens your saved builds and their versions.

Click one to load it to your clipboard, paste it, see versions, tag, share, rename or set who can see it, or fork someone else's into your own library. /schem save <name> saves your WorldEdit selection (//wand, or //pos1 / //pos2). Saving under the same name adds a new version instead of overwriting.

Visibility is private or shared. Sharing with a person grants view or copy.

One library on both servers. Builds you saved on SMP show up here too, and this is where you can paste them. Save there, paste here.

Change ledger

/ledger here — who changed blocks around you, and when. /ledger inspect — toggle click-to-inspect a block's history. /ledger rollback — undo a scoped set of changes; confirmation menu first.

Timelapse

/timelapse lets you watch the plot you're standing on rebuild itself from its earliest recorded change. You must own it or be trusted on it. It hands you a hotbar and gives your inventory back at the end.

ItemDoes
Red / lime dyePlay or pause
Snowball · Fire chargeSlower · Faster
Arrow · Spectral arrowStep back · Step forward, one frame
Recovery compass · CompassJump to the start · past the last change
LodestoneMark from here — the next ⏮ Start jumps to this frame instead
BarrierDone

It replays the change ledger, so a plot with no recorded history has nothing to show.

Performance lint

/lint checks the plot you're standing on for entity, tile-entity and redstone density, and flags what's likely to cause lag.

Click a warning row to see which chunks, worst first. Refresh rescans; Get book takes the report with you.

Treat the warnings as rough guides, and fix the worst chunks first.
