Ore veins on CarbonNetwork Skyblock

An ore vein on CarbonNetwork’s Skyblock server is a block that never runs out and shifts between stone and ores. How it works and how to upgrade it.

An ore vein is a block that never runs out. It shifts on its own between stone and different ores. Mine it when it's showing something good.

/veins every vein on your island

Also Escape → Skyblock → Island → Veins.

How a vein works

  • Every few minutes it shifts to a new state: stone, coal, copper, iron, and now and then gold, lapis, redstone, diamond or emerald. Rarer ores don't last long.
  • Mine it and you get that ore's normal drops. Then it cools (it turns to cobbled deepslate for a few seconds and can't be mined) and picks a new state.
  • Now and then it surges: several ores in a row, with no stone in between.
  • When it turns diamond or better, everyone on the island who's online is told, with how long it will stay.
  • It needs the right pickaxe, the same as the ore does in vanilla. Diamond needs iron or better.

A hologram above it shows its state and how long it has left.

Placing one

Every new island gets a Tier I vein. More come from the barge.

Place it like a block, on your island. It needs a block under it and at least one open side. How many you can place depends on Vein slots in /is upgrade.

A Miner Minion facing a vein mines it for you.

Upgrades

Right-click a vein with an empty hand to open it. Upgrades cost money and ore from your inventory.

UpgradeLevelsWhat it does
TierI–Vbetter odds of rare ores, and more surges
Regen0–IIIcools faster: 30 s → 20 s → 12 s → 6 s
Fortune0–IIImore drops per break
Stability0–IIIores stay longer before shifting (up to 2.5×)

Odds shows this tier's chances next to the next tier's.

TierCost
II$1,500 + 32 iron ingots
III$6,000 + 64 iron ingots + 16 gold ingots
IV$20,000 + 32 gold ingots + 8 diamonds
V$60,000 + 32 diamonds + 8 emeralds

Regen costs redstone, Fortune costs lapis (and emeralds), Stability costs gold ingots. The menu shows each price.

Picking it up

Pick up in the vein menu (shift-click) puts it back in your inventory, upgrades and all. Only the island owner or whoever placed it can.

Visitors can't open or mine your veins. Anyone on the team can.
